Today is Make Your Own Holiday Day. So, get our the journals, put on the thinking caps, and ask everyone to write a short description of their own unique holiday.

What is the name of the holiday?
What day will it be celebrated?
How will it be celebrated? What customs or practices will people follow on this day?

You could ask that the ideas be reasonable and plausible–something that the family could actually do–if the ideas aren’t too far-fetched, you might even decide to enter them onto the family calendar and celebrate them!
Or you could encourage everyone to think of the most outrageous possibilities.
